Aims and content:
- The course is designed to enable pupils to achieve the following areas of knowledge:
An understanding of:
- The Business environment
- Business structure and organisation
- Business behaviour
- People and business
In addition to the main or core syllabus, an option has to be studied as a basis for your coursework. We take the Business and Change syllabus. This covers the ever changing character of business which necessitates new decisions being made in response to both internal and external circumstances.
Pupils are expected to develop:
- A knowledge and understanding of the language, concepts, techniques and decision making procedures used in a business environment.
- The skills of communication, literacy, discovery, selection and employment of relevant sources of information, presentation and interpretation.
- An understanding of the practical uses of: Information technology in relation to business decision making and communication.
At all times pupils are expected to up-date their knowledge by using newspapers, periodicals, the internet, radio and television broadcasts.
